Esper Library is built around local-first storage. This page summarizes what that means in practice.

What stays on your device

Resume content, cover letter drafts, library entries, and tuner settings are stored in your browser (typically localStorage). We do not operate a central database of your career documents.

Bring Your Own AI (BYOAI)

When you copy a prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or another assistant, that provider processes the text under their terms. Esper Library supplies the workflow and formatting; you choose where inference runs.

Backups

Use Settings > Data Management to download a JSON backup. Clearing site data or switching browsers without a backup will remove local drafts.

Site analytics & counters

Anonymous aggregate counters may be updated when you use certain features (for example, after exports or shelf saves). They do not include resume text or personal identifiers.
